Sie ist intuitiv verständlich angelegt und für jede Person mit Internetbrowser und -verbindung nutzbar. Etwa 20 verschiedene Datenfelder sind mit Normdaten hinterlegt. Sie speisen sich aus bereits erfassten Daten, u.a. den von Museen entwickelten Vokabularen für Materialien, Technik, Stil und Epoche. Literaturangaben können direkt mit Bibliotheksdatensätzen des Gemeinsamen Verbundkatalogs (GVK) verknüpft werden, ebenso archäologische Objekte mit ihren Fundstellen oder Baudenkmäler mit dem Informationssystem des Niedersächsischen Landesamtes für Denkmalpflege (NFIS). Durch die Kompatibilität mit anderen Datenbanken können Objekte leicht durch eine angepasste Schnittstelle in andere Portale überführt und dort angezeigt werden, z.B. dem Portal Kulturerbe Niedersachsen, der Deutschen Digitalen Bibliothek (DDB) oder dem Portal Europeana.
