The foundation process
Would you like to work on a clearly defined RDM topic and contribute to the creation of NFDI4Objects Commons? Build up a TWG initiative group together with other interested members of the community.
The preparation
The establishment of Temporary Working Groups in NFDI4Objects requires the approval of the Steering Committee.
The coordination and management of the Temporary Working Group is the responsibility of two chairs. There are no institutional requirements regarding the composition. Both chairs are approved by the Steering Committee along the application process.
The foundation process
To submit an application, a TWG Proposal Form ("New Proposal") must be completed in German and English and submitted to the Steering Committee for approval. Steering Committee meetings are held monthly on a given Friday. Therefore, please submit your TWG Proposal via our Community Hub at the beginning of a session week (Mondays at 12 noon).
It is recommended to present the contents of the planned Temporary Working Group in one of the Friday Round Table Meetings of the consortium before submitting the application in order to receive constructive feedback. Please contact the Scientific Director Christin Keller (German Archaeological Institute) to coordinate appointments throughout the process.
Once the TWG Proposal has been approved by the Steering Committee, the CC application will be published in the NFDI4Objects Zenodo Community by the Community Manager or the Coordination Office.
The active Temporary Working Group
The Temporary Working Group is free to choose its means of communication and to coordinate and conduct meetings and activities.
The meetings can be held in any format of the TWG’s choice (usually online). Invitations to the meetings should be sent out at least by mailing list, but other communication channels are also welcome.
Minutes of the meetings should be published in order to ensure transparency of the Temporary Working Groups activities to the community.
TWG results underlie the NFDI4Objects Commons Process. After a public comment period, the General Assembly decides on the admission of the contribution into the NFDI4Objects Commons.
The activities of the Temporary Working Group are monitored by NFDI4Objects. The General Assembly may dissolve any TWG in the event of inactivity or in the event of activities that contradict the objectives of NFDI4Objects.
