What are assemblies?
Assemblies are recurring, thematic gatherings of community members where decisions are made about defined areas or topics within NFDI4Objects.
In our Decidim‑based Community Hub, assemblies serve as participatory bodies with varying levels of openness:
-
Some are open to all and allow you to:
Attend meetings (space permitting),
Contribute agenda items,
Comment on proposals,
Participate in deliberation and decision‑making processes.
Others are private, intended for members with specific roles or responsibilities.
Examples of such assemblies include our:
General Assembly, which convenes periodically to shape NFDI4Objects’ strategic direction and organisational structure;
Task‑area consultations and advisory groups;
Issue‑specific panels – such as commissions for equality, monitoring, or governance improvement.
Thanks to the Decidim platform, each assembly offers:
A dedicated space to view information and materials,
A transparent calendar of upcoming meetings,
Features to comment, propose, or follow outcomes,
Clear information on who participates, what is decided, and how decisions are reached.
Assemblies are at the heart of community-driven governance in NFDI4Objects—they give you the opportunity to help define goals, develop standards, steer services, and shape our shared research infrastructure.
