About this assembly

Field is a modern take on flexible field and find recording for archaeological excavations. It is developed as a cooperation between the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) and the Head Office of the GBV Common Library Network (GBV).

This is the community space for users of Field Desktop, Field Hub and Field Web - also known as iDAI.field.

Field Desktop is free and open source software, and can be installed and used locally on any computer by any archaeological research project. Field Hub is likewise free and open source and can be run by any institution or project as their own synchronization service. The German Archaeological Institute also runs its own publication platform (Field Web) at field.idai.world, where you can browse through the DAI's excavation projects.

In this community hub, we (the developers of the Field toolbox) want to provide you (our users and colleagues) space to meet us and each other, talk through your workflows and experiences, as well as find help and further information on the growing ecosystem around Field!
